I have been on a YOUTUBE binge lately. I have been watching anything from homesteading, to videos on Giants, how to videos, biblical videos. etc. My favorite thing to do though, is watch food videos, specifically those from the YouTUBE channel called TASTY. I can watch that channel for hours straight because they show the recipes being made fairly quickly with only music. Today was one of those days. It inspired me to play chef!
As I sat watching YOUTUBE/ tasty channel today, I was intrigued as usual, but today I had the time and money to try some of the recipes. I went to the store and spent $100.00 dollars MORE than I was supposed to. I came home and didn't even put the food away. I just grabbed some pans and started cooking.
This doesn't sound like a big deal. However, you must understand, my kitchen is basically non-existent at this point. It is quite a pain in the hind-end to cook. The contractor can't start for 4 months. My husband was a contractor, so I conned him into starting demo and getting my subfloor put down. Due to my impatience, this is my current rough kitchen. I was hypnotized by the tasty channel, so it didn't stop me. I wanted to cook!
Thanks to The TASTY channel's influence, I actually made several yummy dishes SUCCESSFULLY, including the following:
home made mac and cheese with bacon and 3 cheeses
broccoli soup ( in the pressure cooker that is digital)
pork chops cooked in bacon
Bread with 3 cheeses, butter and garlic and pepperoni
I am cooking meals ahead to prepare for when I cannot use my kitchen again in the upcoming months. Thus the large quantities of food. In case you wondered. Yes, vegetables added to the line up later!
The kitchen status makes me not want to cook, but i am sick of eating out. Paying over-inflated prices for substandard food gets old fast. (Is that why they call it fast food?) All of the cooking I did do today made a big mess! NOW comes the fun part which is doing the dishes. IF you didn't notice, I have no sink presently. My current solution is to do dishes in a 5 gallon bucket in my shower. I am not sure how long I can put up with this. I know it is my fault for pushing ahead on demo, even though I knew no one would start my construction project for several months. I don't care, I am ALLOWED to whine if I want too, so there!!
MY HUSBAND said to me, "Babe, you jumped the gun on this one." I Replied, " NOPE, I am just being pro-active sir!!"
What do you think??
