Today was one of those days. You know the ones! I woke up feeling like I should just stay home and not go to work. It just sounded like a good idea. I did go to work, but as the day progressed, I knew my gut feeling had been correct! It was going to be ONE of those days.
I got up this morning a little later than I meant to. I hit snooze a few too many times. I hurry into the bathroom and smack my pinky toe into the cedar chest. Pretty sure i broke it. After hopping around like a lunatic and cussing wildly for a few minutes , I examine the toe to determine it will work for the moment to get me into the bathroom. I finish up in the bathroom and hurry down the stairs. TOE is still throbbing reminding me that it was not happy after its recent abuse. I ignore the pain.
I hurry into the other bathroom and dig around in the sock basket (YOU have one, don't act like you don't). I can't find a match so I grab two that are made similar. One is pink on the heel and the other is blue. Close enough in my book.
The morning is producing WONDERFUL things for me today!
I finally finish dressing and head out to the car. SURPRISE!! The tire indicator shows that my tires need air as they are low. The cold makes the tire pressure read lower than it is, and normally I wouldn't worry about it, but the numbers say they are in the 26 range. My tires are supposed to be in the 35 PSI range. Great! I guess I better get air before heading to work. This is taking time that I do not have to spare. Grrr!
I stop at the gas station and try to put air in my tire. The reading was 26 BEFORE I put air in and now it reads 24. AHhhhhhhh. I try again. This time it reads 18. Really? Seriously?? What is wrong here?? I go into the station and offer the attendant $10.00 dollars to put air in my tires, because for some reason It won't work for me today. (Embarrassed and frustrated by this time. ) The attendant smiles and says he will do it for free. I tell him I have done it before so I have no idea WHY it is not working for me today. He laughs , along with the other 3 men in the station, as he tells me the air is not on and I was letting the air out, not putting it in. Nice! He turns the air on and I go and fill up the tires, successfully this time, whew! I look down and see that my hands are BLACK from handling the air hose and tires. It just keeps getting better!
I pull out of the gas station and head down the road toward work. I am finally on my way. Things are looking up! Oh wait............there is a train stopped on the tracks I need to cross. Wait , wait , wait. The train finally starts to move. It is almost gone. The crossing barriers stay down. Wait, wait , wait. I text work telling them I will be late. I take a sip of my drinking water and spill some on my shirt. NICE! I decide I can use the water to clean my dirty hands. Something good came out of that at least.
Someone pulls around the barrrier and all of a sudden I see police lights and hear the sirens. I guess their day just got worse than mine. hehehehe. YAY them. ( I am not feeling very charitable right now).
STILL waiting on train barriers to go back up. Nothing happens. Then the train starts moving back in the other direction and is in the way again. AHhhhhhhhh! IT stops. Sits there for awhile. Wait , wait , wait. Then it starts moving back to the OTHER direction............ SERIOUSLY? Seriously?? Finally it's gone and traffic starts moving again.
I eventually get to work. I arrive late and still have to wait at the front to get cleared to go in. I have a few other delays. I finally arrive at my work space and after another 10 minute hold up, I get to start my work day. The good news is I was only 15 minutes late when I clocked in. I didn't get to start work until 30 minutes after I should have started due to another delay. It could have been worse though.
Just so you know.............................................the rest of the day went very well. Thank you GOD! Whew! My gut was right! I should have listened to it, becuase It was definitely ONE OF THOSE DAYS!
