I don't know how long the show called THE WALKING DEAD has been on television, but I wouldn't even watch it when it was first out. I told my son and my husband it was stupid because that couldn't happen .
Week after week they continued to watch it, and I kept saying how stupid it was. LAST year I found out that my mother (who will be 80 this year) was a great fan and even had a glass with the walking dead on it. I laughed so hard I cried. Prior to that my sister admitted that she loved the show and watched it religiously. I think that was more difficult to believe than the fact that my mom was a great fan. My sister is pretty hard core and no nonsense.
SO, when I went to her house last year and she was having a WALKING DEAD party, I was shocked! She had a cake made to look like a door with zombies stuck behind it, and a ball bat named Lucille on it. I have to say, the ball bat looked more like a dead penis than a bat, but the OTHER sister that had made the cake said that was as good as she could do with the creation. She had bloody walls and plastic flowers on tables, a photo album of cast member that had passed away. There was a lot more too. It was mind blowing. ANYWAY, my opinion of my family of crazy people has been elevated to a whole new level of crazy due to this show.
I have to admit that all of this fan crazy stuff made me curious. Over the last several months I have been slowly been drawn into the show. I think MR. NEEGAN (spelling? ) Helps that a lot. He is such a cutie. As I have been watching the story line unfold, I realized WHY I think this show is such a hit. IT is NOT due to the zombies at all, even though they add fun to it. I believe the show is a super hit because it is a PSYCHOLOGICAL thriller. IT draws you into the world of these people and it makes you wonder what you would do or become if ANY type of large world changing event occurred. Would you survive? Would you be a man or a mouse? Would you fight or just sit back and do nothing? Would you become the next dinner course?
I must admit that I am becoming a fan of the show. The writers are great, the directors, the crew etc.
It is truly a show that grabs your attention and makes you hang on to the story line . You get to be happy, sad, disgusted, etc. The show makes you feel it all.
I have been adding my butt to the couch on Sunday nights in time to watch the Walking Dead with my husband. I am fearful that soon, I too , will be hosting Walking dead themed dinners and parties............
My hope is that I will continue to bathe and wear clean bloomers no matter how immersed in the show I become. Some of those fan photos make you wonder.
